2011 Porsche GT2 RS Review,Price.Picture,Feature
Unless you were one of the lucky 500 that was able to make reservations for the 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, then this post will be all about looking at what could have been if we only had the money to actually buy one.
With a 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine with an output of 620 horsepower already prowling units its hood, the 911 GT2 RS already packs a very mean and powerful punch. But for some people, 620 horsepower just isnt enough, so they set out to build a performance package for the Porsche beast to make it even more powerful.
The tuner's upgrades are concentrated on the 911 GT2 RS' 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer which benefits from a remapped engine controller, optimized turbochargers, a sport air-filter, new air-intake and a valve-controlled sport exhaust system along with sport catalysts.
These modifications bump output from 620 to 703-horsepower, while peak torque rises from 700Nm to an even more impressive 810Nm or 597.5 pound-feet. According to Wimmer RS, the powered-up 911 GT2 RS can now complete the sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.3 seconds and pass the 200 km/h mark after just 9.5 seconds (stock model: 9.8 seconds), while continuing up to a top speed of 356 km/h or 221.2 mph.
The 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS price will start at 199,500 Euro in the Euro zone, and the car is also expected to arrive on the North America shores this October.
Porsche press release :
Stuttgart. The time: seven minutes, 18 seconds on the Nrburgring-Nordschleife. The power: 620 hp. The weight: 1,370 kilograms or 3,021 lb in road trim with all fluids on board. The car: the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The GT2 RS is making its world debut at the Moscow Auto Show on August 25th.
The future top GT model marking the absolute climax in the 911 range is the fastest and most powerful road-going sports car ever built in the history of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart. With power up by 90 hp and weight down by 70 kilograms or 154 lb in comparison with the 911 GT2, the new 911 GT2 RS has a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.21 kilos or 4.9 lb per horsepower,by far the best power/weight ratio in its class. Obviously, these are the ideal ingredients for an ultra-high-performance sports car with supreme agility, truly blistering performance on the road, and of courseexemplary Porsche Intelligent Performance. For despite this extra powerand performance, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions versus the 911 GT2 are down by approximately 5 per cent to 11.9 ltr/100 km (equal to 23.7 mpg imp) and 284 g/km.
Theres extra downforce from a taller rear wing and redesigned front spoiler. In the cabin, you get lightweight bucket seats, fabric door pulls and lots of alcantara.
Porsche is keen to point out that the GT2 RS is a deeply green car, returning 23.7mph and emitting just 284g/km of CO2 better figures than the GT2 despite the increased power.
Just 500 GT2 RSs will be built, with prices starting at one more big number for you a whopping 164,000. Thats about 33,000 more than a regular GT2. We suspect potential owners shall not care.
The GT2 RS wont be formally unveiled until August. Well get our hands on one as soon as possible and give you the full verdict. We are a little tiny bit entirely terrified at this prospect.
in the engine-house software. Two turbochargers have been optimized. And the air intake has been adjusted. Fine-tuning of the throttle valve and installation of the sport air filter makes a great contribution to inexhaustible power of the engine.
On the other hand, installation of a valve-controlled sport exhaust system along with sport catalysts play a decisive role in the never-ending forward thrust of the GT2 RS.All things considered, the power is available after the performance increase at WIMMER.
Racing technology not to be despised at 703 hp (Standard Performance: 620 hp) with maximum torque of 810 Nm. The top speed depending on the tires is breathtaking 356 km/h. No doubt, the two following performance characteristics may contribute to exciting conclusion that can stop mouths of any disreputable motor sports fan: The sprint from zero to 100 km/h is completed in 3.3 seconds and passes the 200-km/h speed limit after just 9.5 seconds.
