I am moving this weekend.....I have heard that USPS will not forward mail to the new address and hence I need to use Ar-11 to change address
My wife and my EAD's were mailed Nov. 27 and should arrive in a week I guess. however I will not have keys to the mailbox then. Rather than change address immediately with USCIS can I just have USPS hold my mail for a few days. That way my EAD wont be sent back to USCIS.
Will this work? Or do I have to bite the ubllet and change my address and have my EAD returned to USCIS and wait till they send it out again.
Please advice

I see the whole forum is full on H1B questions and misc. Is the IV focus has shifted from GC to H1B????
Most of the guys who joined this forum has EAD and waiting for GC then why the discussion on H1B. Looks like the web address should change to H1Bvoice.org.
There are tons of website available for those discussions( only discussions), this forum to join together and act as community to fight for the common cause "GC delay" but now it looks like a ladies kitty party chit chat. Ever seen the anti immigrant website.. they are focussed on one and only one thing, raise voice against anti immigration. Atleast this is something we can learn from and talk sense here, rather than talking about srilanka civil war and fresno tax.

I have been following this thread closely and wan't to understand one question regarding the I-94.
At POE the immigration officer will stamp the I-94 validity till the passport expiry date or the expiry date on the I-797 A, whichever one is later.
Even if your passport I-94 is valid till passport expiry date, the I-797A date should be the date till which the person should be legally allowed to stay in the US....should'nt that be the case ????
Can some gurus pls clarify ?

So, if u have entered the country with a I-797 with I-94 validility until 9/2009 and the officer at POE gives you I-94 with validity until 8/2008, then you are legal until 8/2008 and you should be making necessary arrangements to extend your stay beyond 8/2008.
If you get your I-797 after you have entered the country then you are legal until the validity date that came with the I-94 of your I-797.

but it would be worth atleast trying to ping him and see if he can help. He is an expert in these matters...
I think at this point you'll have to send the info you are planning to send (06 tax returns, and all recent paystubs which are >LC_Wage) and hope you dont get a more detailed RFE digging back all the way to your PD.
Also, what is your H1 status? If you are still on H1, try to stay that way instead of using your EAD until this is resolved. If its expiring soon, you may want to plan out how to get an extension and carry on (ie. int he worst case if this case runs into issues and you need a second PERM+I_140, then you will need to start it asap). Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst case...

I'have appplied for 485 thru AOS...i am currnetly workin on EAD.....i was wonderin if i can switch to CP at this stage..

My employer started the recruitment process and they have got 4 applications for the position advertised. Experience required was MS+0.
Does anyone know what are the effect of having 4 applicants. What is the effect of this to obtaining the labor certification. Is getting more applications a bad situation for me?

My lawyer asked me to mail again with a cover letter saying that since my checks were not cashed even after 60 days I am mailing again. I asked the clerk to ignore the new application if they see my original application by the time they open this.
IMHO, this is INSANE. No wonder, USCIS is going to take FOREVER to even issue receipt notices. A concerning mistake on original submission is one story but to reapply just because no receipt was issued is another!

How much time does it take to get this. I am going to be out of country on Nov 4th. will there be any issue If I cannot make it to the finger printing.
Expect to get an approval notice after 5 days.....hopefully you'll get the EAD cards itself after 3 days from approval notice.
